How old are children in kickboxing. Features of children's classes in kickboxing sections

Martial arts for children.
At what age can children be sent to the martial arts section?
What type of martial arts should I send my child to?
Isn't it dangerous for health?
These questions are faced by almost all parents who are considering sending their child to the martial arts section. Therefore, we decided to publish an article with our opinion on these issues and our approach to organizing the training process for children. At the Martial Arts Center Perun, we accept children from 4 years old in the section (general physical training). The training program in this section is aimed at preparing your child for further study of martial arts. The program includes: 1. Physical training; 2. Acrobatics; 3. Gymnastics; 4. Training of coordination of movements; 5. Studying self-insurance techniques; 6. Studying the basic techniques of various martial arts. 7. Teaching the rules of conduct in the gym.
children are 4-6 years old. From the age of 6, you can transfer a child to any section presented in our Center:,.
Many parents are skeptical about classes and want their child to immediately, in some cases even from the age of 4, go to the martial arts section. This is due to the fact that some parents have formed a negative image of the abbreviation "". It seems to them that the child in this section will only run, squat, do inclinations, in general, everything that he does at school and on the street, and they want him to learn martial arts as soon as possible and start showing results. And this is a big misconception and mistake of parents, since in our section children are prepared specifically for martial arts. After a year of training, the child improves physical fitness, flexibility, coordination of movements and self-confidence, he knows how to: fall correctly, somersault, push-ups and behave in a group. This is exactly the foundation on which the study of any martial art is built. Therefore, if your child is from 4 to 6 years old and you want him to do martial arts, then we strongly recommend that you bring him first to the section.
If your child is over 6 years old, then you can enroll him in any of the children's sections. Then the question arises - where is it better to give the child? With this question, the experienced of our Center will help you to which you can bring the child for a trial training, after which the trainer will be able to tell the parents to which of the martial arts, in his opinion, the child has a predisposition.
And the last question. The issue of martial arts injury risk for your child. Martial arts are no more traumatic than any other sport, be it running, football, basketball, etc. Since the classes are supervised by experienced

Kickboxing is not only a martial art, but also health benefits, classes are an excellent treatment for certain diseases. For example, you can note such a disease as congenital heart disease. It is up to you to choose whether you will fight with an opponent, as this is a martial art, or you will practice on your own in the gym, without any damage to others. Among other things, along with the spirit, as in the practice of martial arts Kung Fu, the body is also tempered.

If you have health problems, then this is not a reason to quit sports, you can, after consulting with your doctor and trainer, draw up an individual training program, the load will decrease. Of course, such people will have to give up high achievements and performance in competitions, but this is not the main goal, just exercises to keep themselves in good shape, cheerfulness and self-confidence.

So we can conclude that kickboxing is not only martial arts and sports, but also just an active way to treat diseases. But this is not the main advantage of classes. You will not regret if you give your child to the kickboxing section, this is an excellent physical training. The most important thing is not to get carried away too much, and work with an experienced trainer who specializes in preparing children, and do everything according to the instructions. This is the only way to achieve a positive effect. And plus - this is self-defense, which boys must necessarily own, and it would not hurt, of course, for a girl, it will not be scary for them or you to walk with them. And besides, perseverance and determination are trained well from childhood.

Building character, maintaining health, self-defense: all this gives you reason to choose this particular sport. Do not hesitate, but feel free to take things and go to training. The rest of the advantages, which are much more, you can determine for yourself in the course of classes.

But there is one problem, as with other sports, you need to regularly attend training and constantly exercise, if you form the wrong motivation and do it irregularly, doubts may arise whether it is worth doing at all, and fatigue from training and even an apathetic attitude towards them may occur. . You need to get the right instructions. Firstly, sign up for the section and talk with the instructor, discuss all the details, and secondly, buy literature on this issue or read information on the Internet.

It is good to work not individually, but in a group. Thus, you can even achieve a better result, because collective classes develop qualities in another direction.

What can you say specifically about training?

Like any other lesson, it begins with a warm-up, which lasts from 5 to 15 minutes, and in no case should you skip it. It is necessary to warm up the joints and the body as a whole, which will reduce the possibility of injury. Be sure to do a good stretch, as this will come in handy for some movements. Next, you can move on to the exercises. If you just came, then there will be an initial course. This includes: training in a fighting stance, both single and double punches and kicks, combined punches. Thus, you will be aware of what lies ahead for you. It is very important to master the withdrawal from the opponent and the approach to him. Having mastered this, you get the key to your future success.

After getting the basic information and basic technical points, you will be ready for more serious training. Be aware of new information. After such basic training, you can try to go into battle with a more experienced opponent. Even if you lose, you will get very useful experience and will acquire your own technique.

When choosing the type of martial arts for a child, parents try to approach this issue with all seriousness and carefully study all possible options for the offers of various sports schools before sending their child to classes. More and more parents prefer children's kickboxing in their choice. There are a number of reasons for this.

And in the first place the benefits of kickboxing for children, because during the training the child develops:

  • flexibility;
  • dexterity;
  • coordination of movements;
  • strength;
  • reaction;
  • a sense of balance;
  • endurance;
  • concentration;
  • perseverance in achieving the goal;
  • attention;
  • concentration;
  • discipline;

Due to the fact that in this type of martial arts the work of arms and legs is combined, the athlete's body develops harmoniously. Another undoubted advantage for children and parents is the use of well-designed protection during training, which practically eliminates injuries during training and competition.

In addition, kickboxing is officially a sport, which means for the pupils of our club the opportunity to participate in championships, including international ones, receive ranks and titles.

How to prepare a child for training at the Kitek club? It is advisable to get a certificate from the pediatrician that the child is not contraindicated in sports. Prepare comfortable clothes - shorts or sweatpants, a T-shirt. Sign up for a training session in Moscow by calling our trainers and come.

What will the child get from classes in our club? Passion for sports and a healthy lifestyle, like-minded friends, interesting workouts, trips to training camps and championships and much more! For girls, a taut figure and excellent plasticity of movements will be an excellent bonus.

At what age can a child start kickboxing?

Those who choose kickboxing for children in Moscow are interested in at what age they can start training. Clubs offering children's kickboxing in the region and the capital have different points of view, recruiting children from 4-5 or 8-9 years of age. At the same time, young children are engaged in general physical development in a playful way, get used to the coach, discipline. It's good, but it's not martial arts. At the Kitek club we do kickboxing, so we invite children from the age of 9 to train.

Form for conducting classes

Kickboxing clothing for children should meet the same requirements as training equipment for adults. For the first classes, you only need sportswear and shoes that do not restrict movement. Gloves, a helmet and other necessary items of ammunition will be provided by the club. However, for regular serious training, it is better to purchase your own ammunition - it is both more convenient and more hygienic. Ammunition for children includes:

  • gloves;
  • helmet;
  • shin guards;
  • feet - instep protection;
  • bandage ("shell") to protect the groin;

Later, to participate in competitions and championships, you will need a special kickboxing uniform - T-shirts and pants or shorts. If you have chosen our Moscow kickboxing club for your child, it is better to purchase equipment after consulting with the trainer.

self-respect and ability to cooperate;

Finally, I see practical benefits from the fact that my Danil has been attending kickboxing classes for six months now.

Yesterday, a boy in the yard offended him. Previously, in such situations, Danya burst into bitter tears and resorted to complaining to me. And now my child, without hesitation, kicked the offender in the face. By all the rules of kickboxing, the coach would be pleased if he saw!

Finally, my child stops being an uncomplaining aunt! (actually, for this he was sent to a kickboxing school).

This is his first "fist-waving" experience, which is why I'm happy.

He wanted to play war games with the boys, and one of the players ... refused him, plus he added a lot of hard-hitting expressions to Danya's address. True, the children themselves resolved the conflict - another neighbor boy immediately ran up, who quickly separated them.

Of course, it is important that the boy can stand up for himself. The impudent and harmful must be put in their place. But I think boys need a "golden mean": to remain kind, and at the same time be able to stand up for themselves. The main thing is that the child does not start waving his fists all the time.

How to teach him to use force only when it is really necessary?

Since a flood of accusations and almost insults against us gushed in the comments, I will explain two points:

1. The offender is such a boy that all the mothers and fathers of our yard itch to strangle him. His parents do not take part in his upbringing, so it is useless to have conversations with him.

2. He did not want to play with my child because he has poor diction. The refusal was accompanied by such words that it seemed to be spoken by some bindyuzhnik, and not by a 10-year-old boy.

The opinion about excessive cruelty of kickboxing for children is erroneous. This sport would not be able to exist if it were not safe enough.

Kickboxing for children is a good school that brings up character and the desire for self-development. For some guys, even necessary.

Feature of training children

Each child has his own potential and initial skills. Therefore, kickboxing training for children has its own extremely important features and conditions.

Children quickly get tired, distracted, and even mischievous. This must be taken into account in the learning process so that interest in training is not lost.

The exercises are simple and clear. Learning goes from simple to complex. The load increases gradually, as the student's skills develop.

The club "Bulat Gold" pays special attention to the safety of children. Sports equipment for kickboxing, helmets, shields, gloves are used. And children go to sparring only after a long period of preparation.

The child develops physical and combat skills under the supervision of experienced trainers. The head coach of the club is Aleksey Kharkevich (former world champion, coaching experience over 17 years).

At what age can you practice

Recruitment to the fight club "Bulat Gold" is carried out from the age of 7. However, it must be understood that at such an early age it is impossible to cultivate real combat skills in a small person. Moreover, it is dangerous for the health of the child.

Pupils of the younger age group (7-13 years old) learn only the basic basics of kickboxing. The main emphasis is on physical development. Education of firm character and discipline.

Older children (from 13 years old) can already learn more, without any health risks. And with sufficient preparation and with the consent of the parents, children begin to train in sparring.

Training and education

Most of the new children who come to our club have extremely poor physical fitness. Therefore, the first time the students go through a period of adaptation. During this period, the loads are minimal and are calculated individually.

Subsequently, as skills develop, the complexity of the training process and exercises increase.

Theoretical preparation for children is just as important. It is necessary to give children basic knowledge of combat tactics and anatomy. They must understand what a shin is, what a foot is, where the liver and spleen are located. How to protect weak points and protect yourself from injuries not only in training at the club, but also outside it.

The benefits of kickboxing for children

In the course of the training, the strength of character is formed in children, psychological stability increases. There is confidence and courage. Discipline and a sense of responsibility are instilled.

The child overcomes the fear of violence among peers or older children. And regular kickboxing training makes a child able to protect himself from offenders.

Practice shows that often our students begin to take their studies more seriously and increase their average mark. The desire to be better is not limited to kickboxing.

Once you have instilled in your child the desire to develop and win, you will make him a huge gift in life.

You can sign up for the first kickboxing lesson for your child through the application form or by phone. We are located in Moscow, five minutes from Maryina Roshcha metro station.

In addition to the children's group, the Bulat Gold fight club trains beginners and experienced students, as well as girls and women. We also offer private kickboxing classes.

1) At what age can a child start practicing Thai boxing?

Basically, children from 6 years old are taken to children's groups. But there are coaches who work with very young children of 4-5 years old, the main work in such groups is to strengthen the body with general physical exercises, games that develop motor skills and coordination, do flexibility, include wrestling and acrobatic exercises. Before you take your child to any training, be sure to take him to the doctors (orthopedist, ophthalmologist and make a cardiogram).

2) Is it too late to start practicing Thai boxing at 30 and when is it too late?

If you do not have cardinal evidence against the doctor, then as long as you have a desire, be you at least 50-60 years old, you can do it. In combat sports, the spirit and the ability to think are important, which has nothing to do with the body. If you systematically go to training, then physics will reach the desired conditions. Another thing is if you have not had physical activity for a long time, then you need to prepare your body in advance, before joining the group. For starters, you can go for a run once a week and at a very easy pace, for fun, run for 30 minutes or more. A month later, start running on horizontal bars and bars, do a preliminary warm-up and start giving a small load. For example, squats, push-ups, parallel bars, pull-ups and abs. So do 3-4 circles for the maximum number of times in each exercise. And remember, if you want to really start practicing, do everything with diligence, but without fanaticism, otherwise you will lose interest and ruin your plans.

3) I am very thin and tall, am I suitable for Muay Thai training?

For very thin and tall Muay Thai is probably better than any other sport. Being engaged, you will increase the mass that is not enough for you and you will feel comfortable.

4) I am very fat and short, can I do Muay Thai?

Muay Thai training always takes place at a fairly high pace and the main work is on the "explosion". Therefore, for a person who wants to lose weight and learn to protect himself along the way, this is an ideal choice. Do not forget that the statement, since I am training, I can eat whatever I want, is extremely false. 50% success in weight loss is due to the choice of the right nutrition (quantity and WHAT you eat and when).

5) I have health problems (some kind of ...), can I exercise?

It is very important that before you go to train, you have a complete examination. Otherwise, training will not only not help you, but also harm you. Be an adult and find out in advance about weak or problem areas that can bring you inconvenience in the future, and sometimes even make you give up your favorite business, in which you have already invested your soul and time.

6) Do I need to buy all the equipment at once?

The first lesson You can always come and meringue it. But if you decide to come second and still leave for at least a month, then you must buy a mouth guard and bandages. (Gloves and shin protection for general use, most often there are always in the halls). As soon as you decide that you will definitely walk, start choosing equipment.

7) I have never done martial arts, but what if I am paired with an experienced athlete right away?

In serious clubs that raise fighters and prepare them for competitions, this definitely does not happen. Everyone tries to prepare their students as much as possible for sparring work. Therefore, if this happened, then there are 3 options. 1 - You are a sissy, because you were put with the same newcomer and nothing terrible happened, they didn’t even break anyone’s nose, and you were just scared from too close contact. 2 - You really got to an unscrupulous coach who does not follow who is of what level. And therefore, do not be afraid and do not hesitate to ask a friend to beat easier, or a coach to change you in pairs. 3 is the most annoying, but for some it works. You will be specially paired with a stronger athlete to test you for "lice". After this check, either you will not be noticed, or you will be taken on as a promising athlete. In any case, remember that spare parts for the body are not produced yet, take care of your health! Be a man, behave with dignity when you come to the club and be prepared for anything, because you did not come to the dance. People like you train there ... put yourself in the place of people more often and there will be no problems!

8) How traumatic is Muay Thai compared to other sports?

If you work out for "yourself", then the injury will consist of bruises on your legs, a broken nose every 3 years and a black eye. If you decide to perform and prepare seriously, then most often it is a broken rib, nose, toe and various bruises ... I cite the most common injuries, but some have been training for years and have not acquired any of the above. Everything depends on you.

9) How to fill the legs, arms, knees, elbows?

And there are so many opinions on this topic. I will tell you how I stuffed my legs myself and I want to note that there were no health problems after that. The whole process of stuffing is a long period. No need to try to make yourself a tin woodcutter in a couple of weeks. The only thing you will get is inflammation (or even worse detachment) of the periosteum.

1) Padding on shin and instep.

a) Work first on a soft bag. (The entire shin up to the knee should lie on the bag).

b) After you stop feeling unpleasant and painful sensations on the soft one, we move on to work on the hard one.

c) Knurling of the lower leg with a rolling pin or some kind of oval object, a stick (at different angles.)

d) Metal broom (made from ordinary electrodes and electrical tape, which are sold in the store. You choose the thickness of the broom yourself, as well as the diameter of the electrodes. Soak them in boiling water, let them lie down, then wipe the twigs from residues in rubber gloves with a metal sponge. Pour the water into toilet). Stuffing is done by tapping on the impact surfaces (shins, instep, knuckles, elbows, knees).

d) A bottle of water (handy from under mountain due). We also tap on the shock surfaces.

e) Rope moistened with water (or twisted hemp rope). The scheme is the same, tapping.

In addition to stuffing, you can do salt baths or compresses on places prone to dissection, the skin will become coarser and stronger. The stuffing of the thighs is done in the process of pair work during training. Thais don’t do stuffing separately. I advise you to exchange 2 hits in turn to the body (type, knee and middle) or to the hips (low, type and knee) after training. This should be done carefully, calculating the force of the blow so that there are no sharp painful sensations. You need to strain the body (twist in the direction of impact) and the thigh (lean on the leg in the direction of impact and straining the thigh muscles). Remember, your task is to adapt the surface, not injure it! And if a friend hits hard, feel free to tell him to hit lighter, because this is not sparring.

10) How is K-1 different from Muay Thai?

To make it easier to understand, add a low kick and a knee strike to the kickboxing rules (It is allowed to grab 1 time). The rules in K-1 define his relation to Muay Thai, rather the absence of any relation to it. In Thai boxing, clinch work (stand-up fighting) and elbow strikes are very important.

11) Do coaches impose some "Thai philosophy" or ideology in training?

If you mean Buddhism by "Thai philosophy", then it is unlikely that your coach will tell you to change your faith. Most often, in all clubs in Russia, and indeed in the world, except for Thailand itself, traditions have a purely nominal value. The guys dancing ram muay before the fight most often have no idea what it is about, and the coach who allegedly reads some kind of prayer over the fighter’s head clearly does not do it in Thai, if he says something at all.

12) How is Thai boxing different from Muay Thai?

It is the same.

13) What is the difference between kickboxing and Muay Thai?

In kickboxing, punches are allowed (as in classic boxing) + kicks to the body and head. In Thai boxing, punches, kicks, knees, elbows are also allowed + work in the clinch, which is the hallmark of Thai boxing.

14) Is tai bo and muay thai the same thing?

Tai bo is a fitness with elements of martial arts. Designed for girls who are tired of regular fitness, want more variety and can let off steam.

15) Can I combine a rocking chair (Gym) with Thai boxing training?

Work in the gym (with iron) is quite combined with Thai boxing training and is welcomed by many trainers. But it is worth noting that the work is not going to the "mass" if such a task is not worth it. Basically work on strength endurance and strength (powerlifting system).

16) How can I sit on the twine?

It must be admitted that there are people who, purely physiologically, will never sit on the twine due to the structure of the hip joints. You can kick in the head with your foot without sitting on the twine. But if you set out to sit on the twine, be careful, you can tear or break the ligaments very easily. It is better to do this under the guidance of an experienced person in this field. The more often you spend your time stretching, the faster you will see results. Keep in mind that there are people who are already born with better flexibility and you may never be able to catch up with them. Do not be upset, the split does not determine in any way whether you can or cannot knock out your opponent. It is just a resource, one of many that you have.

17) How can I lose weight if I do Muay Thai?

If you do not have health problems associated with being overweight, then you can safely start the path to losing weight. A sufficient, consistent amount of exercise, along with diet control, will help you shed the right amount of unnecessary mass. Remember that rapid weight loss can lead to the failure of vital systems in the body. Therefore, do not rush to lose weight immediately. Non-critical weight loss for the body on average 2 kg per month. You should not force your body, it can also affect the nervous system, after which training will no longer be a joy for you. Fanaticism is as extreme as the fact that before that you did nothing for your body. Try to find a middle ground and then after half a year, meeting your old acquaintances for a year, you will notice how they will be pleasantly surprised how good you look.

18) Can I practice Muay Thai on my own, using video lessons, books, etc.?

Sure you can. If you do not have the opportunity to train in the gym, you live in a dead hole where there is no section or you just have social phobia. If not, the skinniest group will give you way more than all the videos on the internet. Use video tutorials for additional education when you are already training and practicing as a couple.

19)Where to go to train in Thailand, which training camp would you recommend?

It is very difficult to say which camp is right for you. It's like choosing a gym for training ... proceed from the same search criteria. In the near future, the site team plans to make a video review of all the camps in Thailand, travel around the regions and shoot camps, accommodation in them, training, how they train, prices. After watching the videos of the camps you are interested in, you can decide on the choice of a place for training and order a full package of services from us (we will catch tickets for you on the dates you need, advise you on the trip, organize a transfer to the camp. You will only need to train, all the worries we will take over).

20) Which mouthguard to buy, for the upper jaw or for both?

Everyone who once bought a double mouth guard changed it to a single mouth guard over time. Breathing with a mouthguard on 2 jaws is almost impossible

21) What kind of hand bandages to buy, what length and in general, do you need to bandage your hands?

Be sure to bandage your hands. Bandages will keep your joints and ligaments healthy. Wrist sprains, broken fingers are common problems for those who are too lazy to bandage. The bandages will keep your gloves or equipment safe by absorbing moisture and preventing bacteria from growing inside. Buy longer bandages, the larger the bandage, the more parts you can fix better. I do not advise you to take pure cotton, when wet, they stop holding the brush. The bandages should stretch a little, the main thing is not to drag the blood circulation, otherwise you will have to bandage. The most common length of bandages is 3.5 meters, but you can buy 5 meters.

22) What kind of gloves are suitable for Thai boxing, how many ounces do you need for what weight?

When choosing gloves, be based on several search conditions: price, quality, design. Stop at the middle price category from 2000 rubles, these gloves will serve you for 5 years. The choice of quality. Leather or quality deputy. The design of the glove should be justified by practice, see that it is comfortable and easy for you to put them on without outside help. Make sure the Velcro of the glove is lined, otherwise there will be a lot of scratches on the face, neck and other exposed parts of your sparring partner when working in the clinch. If you take gloves and you will have one single pair, then proceed from this calculation. If you are less than 75 kg, take 12 ounces, if more, then 14 or more. Remember that these are practice gloves and you don't need to kill your clubmate. At competitions, you will be given 10 ounce gloves, you still cannot compete in your own.

23) What leg protection should I buy for Thai boxing? How to choose the size and model?

Ankle protection is a very important piece of equipment. Do not skimp on it, without it you will spend the same amount of money on ointments for bruises. Protection should be as tight as possible and fully protect both the lower leg (up to the knee) and the foot. Forward in the equipment market are Thai manufacturers TopKing, Twins, Yokkao, Fairtex ... The average price is from 3500 rubles and more.

24) I am Orthodox (Muslim, Hindu, Sintaist, Rodnover, etc.), can I do Thai boxing, is it forbidden by my religion?

There is no reason not to exercise for yourself. Performance in competitions is not supported by any religion, as it feeds such vices as vanity, pride and in general inflates our egos.

25) Will Thai boxing on the street help me? Why is this sport better than boxing, karate, etc.?

Will help! Boxing and karate will help. In any case, doing any kind of contact martial arts, you have a higher chance of resolving a conflict situation on the street in comparison with a person who does nothing and can even do it without the use of physical force. As for the comparison with other sports, I can say that if we consider the impact types, then for the street there is certainly nothing better than Thai boxing and classical boxing. We do not consider mixed martial arts, since MMA cannot be called a full-fledged sport, it is a mixture of many types of shock and wrestling techniques.

26) Can and should I drink during a workout, how much and what? And how much to drink after a workout?

It is possible and necessary, but in small doses. A couple of sips just moisten the throat. In the children's sections, when it is difficult to keep track of everyone, the coaches generally forbid drinking water, because the children do not know the measure and drink too much. Increasing the amount of fluid in the body puts additional stress on the heart. After training, do not drink 2 liters in one gulp. You can not drink sparkling water, juices, lemonades. Drink plain water, or buy a special isotonic drink, or a mineralized solution, which is also diluted in water and drunk during training, thereby restoring the water-salt balance and those vitamins that are consumed during exercise.

27) How are the trainings going?

When choosing a club, pay attention to such things: 1) How much time the coach spends on warming up (Most often injuries appear due to insufficient warming up of the muscles and ligaments). 2) Do not ask the coach what his rank is, it has nothing to do how he trains. It is better to look at the situation in the hall, how other students treat it. See how attentive the coach is, whether he often corrects or only watches "favorites". The merits of the coach in the results of his students. 3) If the hall is not equipped, this can only mean 2 things. Coaching is just a hobby for him and he is not ready to develop the club. Either the hall has just opened, this is a new place and they simply did not have time to buy everything and it will take time for this. (Equipment in the gyms is most often purchased at the personal expense of trainers. The gym is overgrown with equipment over the course of several years.) 4) Find yourself a trainer who you would completely trust. Only in this case you will be able to achieve some results.5) Never! Once again I repeat, Never look for a hall according to the principle closer to home and cheaper. It is possible that you will be wasting your time, cheap and close to home.

28) So where to start and what to be guided by when choosing equipment?

I have always cited the example of buying a car. The price almost always speaks about the quality + markup for the brand. From this we dance.

Sports in childhood

The harmonious development of the child will occur only if the parents instill in him not only cultural values, good habits, but also a love of sports. Physical development is important, because playing sports makes the child healthy, strong, and also gives him self-confidence. Why should children play sports? Here are some of the main arguments why children should develop physically from an early age:

    Health. Sport is an impeccable disease prevention. In the process of training, the main load goes to the muscles, bones, joints, which has a positive effect on the child's musculoskeletal system, and regular training improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system. The child has been healthy since childhood.

    Getting rid of accumulated energy. One of the indicators of the health of the child's body is its natural mobility. Motor activity is a biological need of the child, the degree of satisfaction of which largely determines the nature of the development of the organism. The problem of physical activity in our days has acquired particular relevance. Sports activities are the ideal solution in such a situation.

    character building. Sport always motivates a person to achieve certain goals. Literally from kindergarten, a child should know what he wants and that much can be achieved if you make an effort. Thus, a strong character is formed in children, thanks to which they can achieve fantastic results in the future, not only in sports, but also in their lives in general.

    The development of sociability. As a rule, sports are associated with team games, where communication takes place between children. The child learns to communicate with his peers. The correct physical development of the child will certainly lead to the fact that he will not only become strong, hardy, but will also have excellent health.

Why kickboxing?

In Russia, sports are becoming increasingly popular. Everywhere open sports sections, which are visited by both adults and children. One such popular sport is kickboxing. Although this type of martial arts is relatively new, it has already managed to acquire an army of fans. The popularity of kickboxing is due to the fact that it is a spectator sport, and the skills acquired in the process of training can be used in life for self-defense. Kickboxing, among other types of martial arts, stands out for its accessibility for people of absolutely any age and health condition, of course, one must take into account the state of health and medical restrictions, however, it is less demanding for a person who wants to connect his life with this sport. Kickboxing for children and teenagers has gained particular popularity.

At what age can kids start kickboxing?

As a rule, the age for starting classes in the kickboxing section is determined by the coach, taking into account the individual characteristics of those who want to practice this sport. In addition, each of the disciplines of kickboxing has its own age restrictions:

Limited contact (6-7 years);

Light contact (10-12 years);

Full contact, professional and male only;

Free style, for professional athletes from 16 years old;

Solo compositions of receptions to music, children from 6-7 years old.

Thus, this sport is suitable for almost anyone, you can start practicing at any age.

Nevertheless, the possibility of training a child in the kickboxing section is largely due to his desire to go in for sports and the level of mental development. The body of the child by this age is already fully formed. His skeleton has the necessary rigidity to easily endure the loads that increase with age, the muscles and ligaments are elastic and strong enough for kickboxing training. It happens that even at the age of seven, a child is completely ready to work for the result at each training session, he himself strives to the gym and trains almost at the same pace with the main group, but it also happens that even at the age of 12-13 years, the child does not yet have a sufficient level psychological stability to practice kickboxing.

Some stages in the training of children and adolescents

Preparatory stage. These are children aged 10-12. It is a little more difficult to attract the attention of children of 5-6 years of age. If this succeeds, then by the age of 10-12 their peers are out of competition. At this stage, harmonious development is combined with teaching kickboxing techniques and health promotion. A wide variety of physical activity will further contribute to the better development of kickboxing technique and tactics. Therefore, classes should include a large number of elements of gymnastics, acrobatics, sports and outdoor games. If parents are interested in achieving high sports results for their child in the future, then in addition to basic training, you need to use all the opportunities for physical education outside the walls of the kickboxing section.

Basic workouts are held 2-3 times a week for 1.5-2 hours. Participation in competitions about 4-5 times a year. Basically it's a type of competition. "open ring".

Stage of initial sports specialization. At the age of 13-14, sports begin to be taken more seriously, so training becomes specialized. The priority is participation in tournament competitions: the championship of the district, school, city, etc. It is also necessary to cultivate participation in competitions in other sports, thereby instilling in the novice fighter a taste for competition, sophistication in various tests, experience, interest in rivalry. Training is aimed at developing physical capabilities, improving health, and creating a high potential for motor resources.

Stage of advanced specialization. At the age of 15-16, training becomes even more specialized. General preparatory exercises are gradually giving way to special preparatory and competitive ones. The workload is increasing. A wide range of means is used to improve speed, speed-power, power parameters of movements in the complex, endurance, coordination abilities. The number of fights held by a kickboxer during the year is increasing - without this, a full-fledged training process is impossible.

During this period, the formation of functional systems that ensure the athlete's performance is completed, the ability to endure pain and fatigue increases. Training is sufficiently individualized: an individual style of activity is formed and improved in an athlete, a tendency to one or another manner of fighting is clearly manifested, an awareness of his strengths and weaknesses, ways to compensate for shortcomings comes.

Features of training for children and adolescents in kickboxing

The sports training of young kickboxers, unlike the training of adults, has a number of methodological and organizational features.

    Training sessions with young athletes should not be focused on achieving a high sports result in the first years of training (at the stages of initial training and initial sports specialization), training and competitive loads should correspond to the functional capabilities of a growing organism.

    In the course of all classes, it is necessary to observe a rational regimen, ensure household hygiene, and a good organization of medical and pedagogical control over the state of health, fitness of those involved and their physical development.

    A reliable basis for the success of young athletes in the chosen sport is the acquired fund of skills and abilities, the comprehensive development of physical qualities, the solution of the functional capabilities of the body.

    With the age and preparedness of young athletes, the proportion of general physical training gradually decreases and the weight of special training increases. From year to year, the growth of the total volume of the training load is steadily increasing.

    It is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of building the school educational process in planning sports training.

Particular attention in training is necessarily given to warm-up and stretching. The body of the child must be fully prepared for stress. A long warm-up not only significantly reduces the risk of possible injury, sprains or joints, but also increases the overall level of physical development of the child, which significantly distinguishes children involved in kickboxing from their peers.

Despite the seriousness of this sport, it is important for children to feel the “lightness” of classes, the exercises should be simple and understandable, you should always move from simple to complex, over time increasing the complexity of tasks and the level of physical activity. The task of the coach is to create a friendly atmosphere during training and to interest children in kickboxing.

What does kickboxing give a child?

Kickboxing for children, and not only for boys, gives the ability to professionally stand up for yourself and others. The child begins to understand how to effectively resist any opponent, even if his opponent is much more physically developed. In the process of training, the child learns to adequately assess the level of danger and adequately respond to it. Perhaps the most important aspect in training is a significant increase in psychological stability, along with the level of personal skill, the child's self-esteem grows, the fear of violence among peers and older children disappears. Unfortunately, the level of violence among children is only growing every year, and kickboxing can become the very unique tool with which a child is able to stand up for himself and not become a victim of violence.

In addition to developing the body and strength, kickboxing classes for children are also focused on the development of the child's social skills, for example, following the discipline and instructions of the coach, respecting peers, and the reasonable use of physical force.

For girls, kickboxing skills can be very useful in the future as a means of self-defense. Classes help not only to form a strong figure of a girl, but also to gain flexibility to the envy of her friends. In addition, it is possible to develop a girl's sports talent to the professional level of women's kickboxing, which is no less popular than men's.

Ensuring the safety of children and teenagers in kickboxing training

In many ways, the safety of children and their health should be ensured by the coach and the kickboxing club. All equipment of the hall must fully comply with the highest levels of security. In kickboxing for children, only two types of kickboxing are used, namely seven contact (limited contact) and light contact (light contact). The very name of these sections of kickboxing speaks of a limitation in the force of blows. It is forbidden to strike at full strength, it is mandatory to use full protective equipment (cap, groin protection, chest vest, feet, boxing helmet). In addition, the constant supervision of an experienced coach will reduce the risk of injury to zero.

And once again about sports, coaches and children!

Sports and a healthy lifestyle have always been especially necessary. And it's not a secret for anyone that they are the main ones in a person's life. From this and, of course, from the coach, the success and motivation for achieving the goal by the pupils largely depend, because the coach gives his pupils not only the joy of achieved sports success, but also great, incomparable satisfaction from strength, endurance, dexterity, acquired excellent health and high efficiency, from the consciousness of a developed will.

“The profession of a coach is, first of all, a vocation, determined by a kind attitude and love for students, the desire to teach and educate them in the spirit of moral purity, spiritual wealth, physical and sports perfection.”

Doctor of Pediatric Sciences, Professor, Nikolai Georgievich Ozolin

“The physical education of the child is the basis for everything else. Without the correct application of hygiene in the development of the child, without the correct physical education and sports, we will never get a healthy generation.

Soviet statesman, writer,

Anatoly Vasilievich Lunacharsky

Artur Artamonov in training with some of his students.

Of all the martial arts that exist today, it is kickboxing that is often called the “most masculine” sport. Every year, tens of thousands of parents around the world send their children to kickboxing classes because they want to instill in them the spirit of a winner, physical strength, strong character, leadership qualities, and the ability to stand up for themselves in a difficult situation. What man has not seen himself at least sometimes as Chuck Norris or Van Damme?

EAK club coach (Estonian kickboxing academy) Artur Artamonov recently celebrated his birthday. But instead of arranging a holiday for himself on this day with entertainment, he came, as usual, to training and spent his birthday in sports. So there was a reason to talk to him that day about kickboxing.

- You started coaching two years ago. How do you build a training program?

– When I give assignments to students, I follow what my coach taught me. But I also read, of course, various books on the "specialty", you can find useful videos on the Internet. Something I invent myself, I improvise.

What do you think should be emphasized during training? Technique or stamina?

“You need a balance of both. A person may be technically very advanced, but if the breath is weak, he will not last long. On the other hand, technique is of little use if stamina during a duel lasts for one minute. Therefore, you definitely need to run, jump, do a lot of squats and other exercises. Particular attention should be paid to the abdominal muscles - after all, you need to be able to take a hit. So at the end of each workout, a set of exercises for the press is required.

- At what age can children take kickboxing?

- Sometimes it's a matter of the individual characteristics of the child's body, but usually six or seven years old is a good age to start training. Children are gradually drawn into the process of serious training. At first, they perform simple exercises - somersaults, running, tags in pairs ... This, by the way, develops a reaction well. If adults do exercises with dumbbells, then children do them without dumbbells or with very light dumbbells. The same applies to other sports equipment. Sometimes children perceive training as a game, then this activity is both fun and useful.

- Many parents are afraid to send their children to kickboxing, they are worried that their child may be beaten. Is it really?

“There is no way we can have that. I will never put a beginner in sparring with an experienced opponent. First, there is a training in the basic defense techniques - blocks, slips, dives, punching technique on a bag, fight with an imaginary opponent or, as we call it, shadow boxing. I carefully observe each student and only then select partners for him who are similar in level. And if a more experienced athlete comes across, I give him clear instructions not to work at full strength. No fear, no injury.

Is this sport suitable for girls? Many people are afraid of bruises...

- Bruises in training appear extremely rarely. Although there are girls who themselves ask for a tougher, more energetic workout. Basically, the girls train in pairs, carefully work out the blows, actively practice on pears or individually with me. I make sure that the strikes are executed correctly: with a turn of the body, along the correct trajectory, etc. Kickboxing is good not only because you can learn the right punches, but also has a beneficial effect on the figure, since it involves all the muscles. After a while, it is noticeable how the body becomes toned, elastic. Although in the first place it will help you protect yourself even from a physically stronger opponent.

- If a person came to training not to become a champion, but simply for general physical training and basic combat skills, how long does it take to achieve a good result?

- On average, it takes about six months, sometimes a little more, sometimes less. After that, it already becomes noticeable that a person is engaged in kickboxing: the movements become correct, conscious. My group is not very large, and this is a huge plus. I manage to pay attention to everyone, I follow everyone.

- And if the child was brought by the parents, asked to teach him to stand up for himself, and he himself studies without much zeal?

- For each kid you need to find an approach, to interest him. It is impossible for a person, even a small one, to be strained and forced against his will. But, perhaps, interest will awaken in him when he gets used to the situation, gets to know everyone in the hall.

- What about those who, in their youth, wanted to go in for kickboxing, but never fulfilled their desire, and now, when they are over thirty, they decided to do it anyway?

- If a person is full of desire to practice, then the most important thing is not to overdo it in the first workouts. Sometimes a person wants to prove not only to himself, but also to others that he is capable of much. If you suddenly overworked and dizziness appeared, you should not be zealous further. You need to rest, by all means come up to me and tell me about it. It is not necessary to complete the entire workout. At first, you can master only half, then increase the pace. If someone wants privacy, I can organize individual training: just me and the student. Then I draw up an individual program, focusing on what the client is primarily interested in - technique, physical training, working out combinations. There are many options. The smallest athlete in my training is five years old, the oldest is 52 years old.
