A simple horse made of paper for children with a template. It is enough to print the template, cut along straight lines, bend along dotted lines and you get such a wonderful horse craft.
What materials were used in this work?
- Double-sided brown cardboard;
- Black double-sided paper;
- Black marker;
- A simple pencil, scissors, glue stick.

Print or redraw the template. Cut it out, for example, on white paper, and then circle the template with two parts onto brown cardboard.
You should have a flat torso and two halves of the head connected at the top. You can fold the cardboard in half, redraw only one half on it and immediately cut out the finished blank of the horse's head. At this stage, it is convenient to color the hooves with a black felt-tip pen, draw eyes, nostrils, a smile, lines on the ears, and any others as desired.
Bend the parts of the torso along the dotted lines. Fold your head in half along the dotted line.
Glue together two folded rectangular pieces of cardboard that will be located at the bottom of the neck. The body is ready.
Glue the head to the top of the neck, tilting it down a little. Now the craft looks a bit like a giraffe. Actually, using this template, you can make a giraffe, just lengthen the neck a little and make the muzzle narrower.
Finishing the Paper Horse Craft
But, since we have a horse, let's transform the blank into the character we need.
To do this, you need a mane and tail. Draw simple details based on the size of your horse. I didn’t draw a template, since it all depends on personal wishes, and these details are very simple, see photo.
- The first detail is the mane, make small cuts in a circle, like a fringe.
- The second detail is a crest on the head, which also needs to be cut from one part into small stripes.
- The third is a tail in the form of a rectangle with a fringe.
Glue the mane to the back of the horse. Twist the crest into a tube and glue it on the head. The tail is also folded a couple of times and attached to the back of the horse.
